How to Know If Your Device is MTK or Non-MTK
Posted by Yorubadev in: Android apps Imei mtk
It is useful to know if your device CPU chip manufacturer is
Mediatek or MTK, the biggest manufacturers of CPU chips in Taiwan. The MTK chip is
used in many Android
phones today, especially the middle-range, affordable ones like Techno,
Infinix, etc. Knowing your CPU chip is very important for Android phone users,
especially those that want to carry out advanced operations on them like
changing the IMEI numbers of your phone.
Ø
Download CPU-Z
app from the Google Play Store.
Note:
It is best to download this app from the Google Play Store to avoid problems in
your device.
Ø
Launch the app. On the main page, you will see
all hardware components of your phone and their models.
Ø
Navigate to the SOC (System on Chips) menu tab and you will see the chip type and
model of your phone boldly written there. You can also navigate to System menu to see the hardware
component. MTK chips always start with prefix Mt. In this way, you can identify
the type of CPU chip your device uses. High-end devices like Samsung, HTC and
Sony use only chips like Samsung’s own Exynos,
or Qualcomm/Snapdragon, and Nvidia. So if your Samsung, HTC or Sony devices
show MTK chip, then know that it is a cloned device and not original product.

These are the ways to determine
the type of CPU chip your device uses. You can also use the above methods to
know if your phone is an original product of its brand. The CPU-Z app can also be used to see information
regarding other hardware and components of your device.
